Log all your Baby’s feedings, sleeping, and diapers…

This way we can track whats going on, specially when baby changes caregiver, from day to night, and vice versa. You can do it in a regular notebook, one that you buy at a store that you just fill in the info, find online to print a PDF, or get an APP to your phone. The one I recommend is called “Baby Connect” (pictured here).

Log Nursing Mother’s Diet

Also log all what you eat and drink, this way, if the baby has any stomach issues, will be easier to see and connect the dots for diet changes you help your baby. At least at the beginning, will be helpful just in case there’re some stomach issues.

5 S’s by Dr. Karp

Learn the “5 S’s,” created by Harvey Karp, M.D., author of “The Happiest Baby on the Block.” The approach simulates certain aspects of the womb, which can calm babies and lull them to sleep. The S’s are: Swaddling, Shushing sounds (made with your mouth or a noise machine), Sucking on a pacifier, Swinging your baby rhythmically, and holding him in a Side-lying position.

Tummy Time

Newborns need to strengthen their core from the very moment they are born. Tummy time is crucial to tiring babies out so they take good naps. In the beginning it's on parents chest. Then it moves to floor time. It's best to do floor time 15-20 minutes after baby has eaten. About 5-10 minutes they will be ready for a nap. Even if they don’t like it, just a few seconds at a time, then again, another few seconds, then will be a minute, then two... go with the flow.

Reading to your children is priceless!

A research article says:

"These findings are part of a long line of research on the necessity of parental interactions with their offspring. As 80 percent of brain growth occurs during the first three years of life, with an average of 700 synapses forming per second, babies that hear more from their parents learn more words by age two. By contrast, babies that are spoken to less display learning disabilities for the next six years."

And in my personal experience, helps a lot with the kids imagination, vocabulary and much more.
